On Monday 11th November 2024, this guy called us at ROLCA Ventures and requested that a laptop be delivered to his location at Kwabenya KFC, and upon receival and inspection, then he sends us the payment. We packaged the laptop and ordered a yango rider who came and picked it up to the delivery location. We had already informed the rider that it’s a laptop in the package so when he gets to the location, the customer would inspect it, and send us the payment through Mobile money. So he has to call us and confirm that we have received the payment, before he leaves the customer.
The rider got to the delivery location ( Kwabenya KFC) and met CHRISTOPHER ELI KAMASSAH. Eli was holding a bag behind him when the rider met him, and requested that they go inside the KFC for him to inspect the laptop. He took the laptop from the rider without opening the package, and told him that he was going to check the laptop and the charger. So as the rider watched him, he went behind a counter, bent down, to check the laptop, and came back to him.
He confirmed everything was okay so the rider should send the laptop to a nearby location and deliver it to them so that the payment could be sent to us.
The rider got to the nearby location Christopher gave him, but couldn’t meet anyone there. So he called Christopher’s phone twice; it rang but he didn’t pick up. And the third call, couldn’t go through because Christopher had then switched off his phone.
So the rider called us and narrated what happened. Quickly, we suspected something was not right. So we asked the yango rider whether he has the package, and he confirmed.
We asked him to open the package and tell us what’s in it. Upon confirmation, then that we realized when Christopher went to inspect the laptop, he removed our laptop HP ZBOOK FIREFLY from our packaging, and swapped it with a very old Acer laptop.
We quickly got some pictures, and asked the rider to come back to us to confirm which one of them he met at the Kwabenya KFC.
Upon his arrival and showing him different pictures, he confirmed that this guy in this picture is the one he met.
